Knitting Classes - Eastridge

Knitting classes are continuing at our Eastridge branch every Tuesday, 1:30-3:00 PM.  Just like the crochet class, you supply the materials, and the lessons are FREE!  Dianne suggests you bring a skein of worsted yarn and size 7 or 8 needles to your first session.  Sign up at the registration desk or call 412-342-0056.  Don't delay - space is limited.   

Memoir Writing Classes - Eastridge

Write Your Life Stories is your opportunity to revisit and write about your memories of those important moments of your life.  Pittsburgh creative and therapeutic writing facilitator Laurie Arnolt McMillan be be leading everyone to capture the rich stories of your life.

This 6-week workshop will be held at the Eastridge Branch Wednesdays, 10:30  AM to 12:30 PM, April 15 through May 20.

Readers Theatre Classes

Ever thought of being in a theatre production but the thought of memorization holds you back?  Readers Theatre class is for you.  It's a fun way to "act" by reading from scripts.

The Readers Theatre Workshop is an eight week series of classes on Thursdays, April 9 - May 28, 10:00 to 11:00 AM in the third floor auditorium.

Rather than memorize lines, participants will learn to use vocal expression to portray characters and unfold a story.  Rehearsals and various theatre activities will lead to increased confidence and creativity.

Oil Painting Classes

Join Pittsburgh teaching artist, Paul McMillan, for free oil painting classes, Tuesdays, April 7 - May 26, 10 AM - Noon.

Color My World: Landscape Oil Painting is our newest creative aging program designed specifically for adults 55+.

Intended for both beginners and experienced painters alike, this eight-week creative aging workshop will introduce and review the basics of oil painting, mixing color and drawing in order to create a natural scenic painting of your choice.

This workshop is made possible through a grant from Institute of Museum and Library Services in partnership with Lifetime Arts and Allegheny County Library Association.

Crochet Classes

Crochet Classes are continuing for both beginners as well as experienced crocheters looking for a refresher class.  Frankie has classes on Mondays at 2 PM in the adult dept. of the Wilkinsburg Public Libary and Saturdays at 11 AM at our Eastridge Branch Library.

Freegal Music Available to Library Cardholders

You can now download free music and video to your computer through Freegal at the Carnegie Libraries of Pittsburgh if you have a valid library card. Cardholders may download 5 free songs or 1 video and 1 song per week.
