Library History
The Wilkinsburg Public Library was founded in 1899 as a branch of the
Braddock Library which was the first Carnegie Library. Over the years
the library moved to several different locations, and eventually became
an independent community library funded by the Borough of Wilkinsburg.
Today, with a collecton of over 75,000 books, magazines, videos and other resources, the library continues to serve the people of the Wilkinsburg and surrounding communities. And now, as a member of the Electronic Information Network, it can be your library too.
